Quality policy

Quality policy

The pursuit of excellence in the development of our business remains a priority. As such, we are committed in meeting our clients' requirements in terms of the quality of our work, respecting the schedules, as well as the creation costs. Attaining these objectives requires constant improvement on our part in terms of our procedures and methods, as well as the preservation of our expertise, our resources and the implication of our employees, which are the key elements of our success. Together, let's continue our development in accordance with our culture, centered on competence.

Quality pieces... that's our aim!

Quality control

OUR QUALITY CONTROL is done according to our clients' specifications. It starts from the reception of our raw materials, throughout production and once the product is finished.

Such is our commitment !

Quality cycles

In order to adequately serve its clients, Fourrures Robertson has introduced the following quality cycles. There are four (4) well implemented and established steps at Fourrures Robertson. These steps are mainly aimed at contract review, in terms of quality, capacity and feasibility, as well as respecting time frames.

  • Contract review
  • Inspection reports
  • Treatment of nonconformity
  • Inspection cycles and persons in charge

Contract review

Fourrures Robertson must establish and keep up to date written procedures that touch contract review and the coordination of its activities.

The president or operations manager revises the submissions and the orders to detect and resolve the differences that might exist. He makes sure that all the elements of the contract are respected. The president and the operations manager are responsible for the amendments to the contract. The methods are described in the review process.

Review process

  • Before the submission of a bid or the acceptance of a contract or an order (wording of requirements), the bid, the contract or the order must be revised by Fourrures Robertson in order to insure that :
  • The requirements are adequately specified and documented ; when there are no written requirements for a verbal order, Fourrures Robertson must make sure that the requirements of the order were indeed agreed upon before being accepted ;
  • All differences between the requirements of a contract and an order and the requirements of a bid have been resolved ;
  • Fourrures Robertson is apt to satisfy the requirements of the contract or the order.

Inspection reports

nspection reports can be found in integral form in the appendix section of this document.

Material inspection report (mir)

The material inspection report ensues from specifications that we give our suppliers before the execution of an order in order to insure that the quality details are known and understood by all. Upon reception of material, we will use the MIR for inspection purposes before the product is forwarded to the production line.

Product inspection report (pir)

The product inspection report is based on our clients' specifications, as well as in-house specifications peculiar to Fourrures Robertson's know-how. We will use this form directly on the production line.

Final inspection report (fir)

The final inspection report concludes our quality circle and is used before shipping to the client. It is essentially aimed at verifying the quality of product shipping.

Treatment of nonconformity

Here are the four (4) steps for the treatment of nonconformity :

  1. Identification;
  2. Isolation of nonconformities;
  3. Analysis and corrective-preventive action;
  4. Recycling or destruction.

Identification

When a nonconformity is identified in accordance to our quality criteria, our employees are instructed to proceed immediately to the isolation of the nonconformity.

Isolation

Once a nonconformity is detected, the employee fills out a form explaining the problem and isolates the item in a red box provided for that purpose, and situated next to his work station.

Analysis and corrective action

The production manager and the participants deemed necessary for the analysis of the nonconformity, study and assess the problems. Depending on the impact, a corrective action may be put in place. If deemed necessary, the corrective action can take the form of a preventive action in other production sectors.

Recycling or destruction

All products not meeting conformity can be recycled as long as it does not affect quality of the final product. All products not meeting conformity that cannot be recycled will be, depending on what is most appropriate:

  • Returned to the supplier for corrective action, substitution or credit.
  • For productions bearing a client's logo, products not meeting conformity and non-recyclable will be destroyed or returned to the client.

Inspection cycles and persons in charge

Fourrures Robertson is responsible for quality. The business passes on this objective to its staff, from the employees to management, in order to involve all levels in this approach. Fourrures Robertson applies the quality circle principle.

Inspections are done in accordance with known specifications, and determined between the supplier and both internal and external clients. We inspect what will be used for production, what is completed during production, and what is considered a completed step or a finished product.

  • All employees will take part in the inspection process.

Every production employee must, according to the MIR, the PIR and the FIR, inspect what he receives, what he does and what he sends, in accordance with a preestablished inspection frequency.

Employee at his work station

The employee at his work station inspects at all times the quality according to the specifications linked to his work station. He documents on an hourly basis the material received, created and sent. (The equivalent of three documented hourly inspections).

Production manager

The production manager performs 4 random daily inspections on finished products, before they are shipped.

President and general manager

The president and general manager performs 5 random weekly inspections on finished products, before they are shipped.

Sales manager

The sales manager performs 5 random weekly inspections on finished products, before they are shipped.

All inspections are posted at each month's end.

Treatment of nonconformity

If an inspection is not in accordance with standards, the frequency is immediately increased at said post, and the articles of this lot are immediately double-checked.
